1. Consolidation of ISOs: The distribution has moved from 46 to 3 ISOs to reduce complexity and testing demands. These ISOs cater to different user preferences and requirements, including options for GRUB, systemd, and rEFInd boot systems.
2. Calamares Installer Enhancements: The Calamares installer has been improved to integrate these changes effectively, with specific attention to including the rEFInd bootloader option alongside GRUB and systemd.
3. Desktop Environment and Software Selection: The update has eliminated “frustration” desktops and software, focusing only on those deemed valuable. This change aims to enhance user experience by avoiding less stable or less popular options.
4. Testing and Feedback Request: There is a call for community testing of the new ISOs, highlighting the need for a broad hardware compatibility check. This request underscores the team’s reliance on community feedback to refine and perfect the distribution.
