CALAMARES MAJOR CHANGES
Calamares 3.2.18 is used on the isos and also kpmcore 4.1. The February release used kpmcore-git. If the March version gives you trouble you can always fall back on the February version. All tests were positive. Encryption should be possible. We have included many more options as you can see in the image below and we will keep adding options.
Calamares gives us freedom of choice
Internet connection required
ARCOLINUXD ISO Package on the iso and in Calamares
We have added the following packages by default to the iso
- feh (often sets wallpapers in twms)
- polkit-gnome (arcolinux-tweak-tool)
- bibata-cursor-theme is standard on the iso – so no longer in Calamares as a choice
We have added the following packages in the Calamares list
- arcolinux-wallpapers-git has been added to the display managers
- dmenu for all twms
- more fonts to choose from – some of them are used by the conkies
- ttf-roboto
- ttf-hack
- ttf-font-awesome
- ttf-fira-code
- ttf-droid
- awesome-terminal-fonts
ENCRYPTION is still possible
Calamares gives you several standard choices in a dropdown
- No swap
- Swap (no hibernate)
- Swap (with hibernate)
You can also encrypt these defaults giving you 6 choices, or use manual partitioning.
We are using kpmcore again rather than kpmcore-git. An update to this packages seems to have fixed the encryption issues we experienced.

Add arcolinux packages to Arch Linux
This application will assist you in getting the ArcoLinux packages from the ArcoLinux repositories when you are on an Arch Linux based system.
It will download the latest ArcoLinux .bashrc and replace your current .bashrc. Afterwards we can use our aliases like mirror, update and upall.
It will install all packages we use in the .bashrc.
It will import the ArcoLinux signing key.
It can fix issues with server connections hosting the keys.
In essence this application is a gui for ArcoLinuxD scripts on github.
The scripts will stay on the githubs to support the freedom of choice we find so important. Here is one example.
This application is NOT in our repos but on the website arcolinux.info in the download section.

ArcoLinux Tweak Tool
ArcoLinux Tweak Tool
The ArcoLinux Tweak Tool provides easy access to features previously requiring manual editing.
We will update this article every time we release a new version of the tool.
Because of the ArcoLinux Tweak Tool some of our packages got an update:
- autostart tab
- desktop installer tab
CTRL + ALT + E
opens the ArcoLinux Tweak Tool
