We can now build the Sierra (plasma) ISO

BYOI – major selling point – 4.000 packages can be added to the ISOS

You can now add any package from the Chaotic-AUR repository to the ArcoLinux iso builds ISOs by using a new parameter in the installation scripts.

• Adding packages from the Chaotic-AUR repository expands the available software options for ArcoLinux ISOs, giving users more flexibility in customizing their installations.
• The new parameter “chaoticrepo” allows users to specify whether they want to include packages from the Chaotic-AUR repository in their ISO builds.
• Using the “pamac” package manager, users can easily search for and select the packages they want to add from the Chaotic-AUR repository.
• Each package is added on a separate line in the package file, ensuring that only the desired packages are included in the ISO build.

Carli

We have updated Calamares and Archiso config for Carli.

CONKY

We have decided to keep conky-lua-archers as a package and will be building it ourselves. We have the last build from the github.

As a consequence we have removed a few older conkys.

Syclo and Harfo are gone.

Qtile – distrotube config

After watching Distrotubes video https://youtu.be/B0MCR7_103w we wanted a way to thank Derek for his years of support.
We also wanted to provide our users, who follow him on Youtube, with a simple way to install Derek’s take on Qtile. We based the package on the config of February 2024.

We have created a package in his honor called arcolinux-qtile-distrotube-git.

We intend to keep it in sync over time.

We did change some of the settings because we do have our own keybindings and such.

You will see that the look and feel is very much the same.

There was a typo in the package numbering.

Pacman will need your manual intervention.

Archbang

We have added ArchBang to the supported Arch based distros for the ArchLinux Tweak Tool.

We have also updated the ArcoLinux nemesis script so we change ArchBang the way we like it. Tutorials have been created to explain the whole workflow.

No calamares here.

It uses its own scripts to install Openbox and all its Arch Linux packages.

Arc themes update

Every 6 months or so we rebuild all 56 Arc themes with all their different colors.

We have removed grape and light-lime and added azure and dudger-blue.

We have changed the ArchLinux Tweak Tool or ATT accordingly.

The arcolinux-meta-arc-theme package was changed as well.

MY DISK IS FULL

In this video we show you how to analyze where the GBs go to and clean your system manually.

Theming script

If you did your “skel” you will find the theming script in your .bin folder named arcolinux-change-theme.
Copy/paste it and change the name and change the theme, icons, cursors, fonts.

It will apply all the possible settings no matter on what desktop you are.

Calamares

We are using the last code from the Calamares github – 04/02/2024.
